Since I signed up for the Wildcat 100 miler in September (which is held here in Pensacola), I wanted to get a feel of the course. The main thing I’ve heard from pretty much everyone I know who have ran it is that it’s hot, so I decided to start a little after 1pm today […]
Finished the Lake Martin 100 miler (my 67th marathon) and finally got my belt buckle. It was a great weekend spent with a lot of great friends. Congrats to everyone there and thanks to everyone out there supporting and helping each other. Good times for sure.
I may not have finished Pinhoti 100, but marathon #58 was a success in my books. Overall, I felt good throughout the entire run. I just couldn’t climb up Pinnacle fast enough to make the cutoff time. That was the last high climb and I missed it by about 5 minutes. The cut off time […]
Three of the West Side Crop Dusters (Matt, Bernice and I) joined the East Side Crop Dusters and finished with another marathon distance. We missed a turn at the end and ended up walking back to the start. As we got closer we noticed that the East Side Crop Dusters were still there drinking so […]
Due to the bouncy eye issue I had last year, I had an appointment to get a balance test during this trip (since I was here for my MRI and check-up with my neuro-oncologist). Before heading back home, I wanted to include a run out to Payne’s Prairie while in Gainesville in hopes to see […]
I’m out-of-town in Gainesville, FL for some doctor appointments to check up on things with my noggin. I had my MRI this morning and then met with my neuro-oncologist at Shands Hospital to get the results. Everything looked good so for my reward, I wanted to go run some trails. As soon as I was […]
Simply put, the Cottonmouth 100k is a great race that is put together by some great people! I originally planned on doing the 100 miler, but months before race day I decided to drop down to the 100k due to me thinking I wasn’t able to get enough training in to complete the longer distance. […]
Was going to try the 100, but lack of training and some painful legs decided to do the 50 mile instead! I had some pain around my knee area on the last ultra distance run I did, but didn’t think much of it other than not training as much. However, my legs really started getting […]
Located near the small city of Alexander City in Alabama, Lake Martin is known for it’s beautiful views and boating. This was my first 50 mile distance ever and it was well organized and put together by the race director. The run is entirely on the private lands of the Russell Forest Trail System which […]
