My Story

Diagnosed.
Not Defeated.

Fifteen years ago I was handed a diagnosis that would stop most people in their tracks — malignant brain cancer. I had brain surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. I had never run a day in my life.

Instead of sitting around waiting to die, I laced up a pair of shoes and started moving. One mile turned into a marathon. One marathon turned into a hundred. Running became my medicine, my meditation, my battle cry.

"If cancer wants to get me, it has to catch me!"

Since my first marathon in February 2014, I have completed over 114 marathons and ultramarathons — including 13 one-hundred-mile races. Every finish line is a reminder that the human spirit is undefeatable.

Life Is Short — Start Now

What's Stopping You?

A brain cancer diagnosis changed everything — it made the clock visible. The goals I'd always "meant to get to" became urgent. I started running, built a van, wrote a book, and kept pushing. Whatever you've been putting off, the time is now. Nothing is stopping you but yourself.

Finding the Rhythm: How Music Production Became My Creative Finish Line

While many of you know me for my miles on the trail, I’ve always had another outlet that keeps me grounded: music production. Long before I was checking off 100-milers, I was behind the decks. Back in the day, I was a scratch DJ, treating the turntable like a true instrument and cutting vinyl to the sounds of breakbeats, house, and downtempo. That tactile connection to the music eventually evolved into a deep passion for creating my own sounds—specifically downtempo and hip-hop beats. The Evolution of the GearI’ve seen the "tech stack" of music change just as much as web development has. I…
