Finished Long Haul 100 with a Sub 24 hour finishing time. This was my personal best for a 100 miler and I got the special green belt buckle since I completed the 100 miler in less than 24 hours. The route was flat but miserable due to the storms that hit the days leading up to the race which made a large amount of the route to be extremely muddy and wet.
My MRI came back with good results. I took a picture of the comparison since one year ago. To celebrate, I started a hiking a new trailhead nearby and realized it connects to the Ride Rail trail out to Alachua Sinkhole so I decided to run out that way.
Great trails that were well maintained. We saw two different groups of hogs and friendly deer. The hogs are really tearing up the trail. I want a bacon biscuit now.
Finished my 89th marathon run at the UWF Trails. It started off with a cool morning and started heating up halfway through.
Last weekend I finished the Rocky Raccoon 100 miler in Texas (north of Houston) with a time of 26:44:52. This was my 7th 100 miler completed and my 88th marathon I’ve completed since my first marathon I completed 9 years ago.
Ran the Eglin trails again with some of the crop dusters. Always good running with them. We even got to go on a boat ride once again.
Ran with Mark to get some distance in. Hit the Eglin Trails and got to go by some of my favorite spots on the the trails there.
Finished marathon run #83 today so now it’s time to taper down for Long Haul. It’s near Tampa so hopefully Shands Hospital will be able to squeeze me in for my appointments when I pass through there on my way back home. I was supposed to do the Louisiana Marathon that weekend but decided to […]
Ran my 81st marathon run with Mark and Rigo. Was a cold morning but felt great for a long run in Blackwater.
Finished marathon #79 at the Blackwater trails with the early Friday morning crew.
Ended up dropping out around mile 55. Right from the beginning something didn’t reel right with me as my breathing wasn’t good and my heartbeat was high and was skipping. Instead of dropping out early, I decided to keep walking and see how far I could make it before missing the cut off time. I […]
Out of the nine who started, only four of us completed the battle. It was not easy and was very challenging. Worst conditions to do a run or hike on the trails with everything overgrown, debris everywhere and flooding from the storms. The last 30 mile stretch to the finish was at the beach with […]
I wanted to test everything out before others do the route so I figured I’d run it solo for my birthday run (not until the 9th). Definitely some concerns on the trail due to tropical storm Claudette from a few weeks ago. I’ll discuss this with the group this next week.
After running with Rigo, Bill and everyone, I ventured off for some more miles. Once I got back to my car, Rigo had left some donut holes from the Milton Bakery and a Gatorade for me.
Since I signed up for the Wildcat 100 miler in September (which is held here in Pensacola), I wanted to get a feel of the course. The main thing I’ve heard from pretty much everyone I know who have ran it is that it’s hot, so I decided to start a little after 1pm today […]
Finished the Lake Martin 100 miler (my 67th marathon) and finally got my belt buckle. It was a great weekend spent with a lot of great friends. Congrats to everyone there and thanks to everyone out there supporting and helping each other. Good times for sure.
I may not have finished Pinhoti 100, but marathon #58 was a success in my books. Overall, I felt good throughout the entire run. I just couldn’t climb up Pinnacle fast enough to make the cutoff time. That was the last high climb and I missed it by about 5 minutes. The cut off time […]
Three of the West Side Crop Dusters (Matt, Bernice and I) joined the East Side Crop Dusters and finished with another marathon distance. We missed a turn at the end and ended up walking back to the start. As we got closer we noticed that the East Side Crop Dusters were still there drinking so […]
