Just finished 30 miles this morning with my EKG on which included a 5 mile run to Running Wild, then paced the 4:45 full marathon group for 21 miles, then ran 4 miles back home. Still no call from the heart monitoring company so it seems like things are good with my heart! A year […]
Was going to try the 100, but lack of training and some painful legs decided to do the 50 mile instead! I had some pain around my knee area on the last ultra distance run I did, but didn’t think much of it other than not training as much. However, my legs really started getting […]
Decided to start running around the bays again and was going to try to get 50 miles in again. On Hwy 90 now in Milton. Other than a 5 mile run, I don’t think I’ve ran since the 36 miles out at Blackwater a few weeks ago. My legs are tightening up so not sure […]
I volunteered to be the sweeper at the Blackwater 50k and added some extra miles after, finishing up with 36 miles on the trails. Legs feel pretty normal too so it was a success. I wanted to go longer but the sweeping added an extra 3-4 hours to my run so I figured I’ll add […]
Finished a total of 30.41 miles today with a pace of 9:32. It was great running with my cousin Corie and also with some other friends (Briana, Suzanne, Katie and Scott)!
I paced the 5:00 hour marathon group and it was great seeing each person from the training group cross the finish line. I ended up with 28 miles as I kept running back to the next person in the group to run with them to the finish. It was a great day and definitely one […]
Last ultra distance until the Pinhoti 100 is complete!
Finished today with 30 miles. I ran 8 miles before pacing the 5:00 marathon training group at Running Wild for 20 miles, then I ran the last 2 miles home. So proud of the training groups this week!
I wanted to go on another running adventure through some areas that brings back many memories from growing up. I live in Pensacola but I grew up in Milton, which is located on the other side of Escambia Bay. I’ve ran out that way before, but this run was a little different. This time I […]
Starting around mile 35-40 I started dealing with some asthma and wiggly legs building up (reminded me of when I passed out at my first marathon). I felt my body was telling me the 100 mile run can wait for another day and I pulled out with a DNF at the aid station at mile […]
I am greatly honored and happy to announce that I will be included in one of the stories in this book by Pete Magill, “The Born Again Runner”. You can pre-order it now, but it doesn’t get released until May 17th, 2016 (which happens to be a few days after the Brain Tumor Run/Walk for Research […]
First time pacing today (5:30 group) and finished the Pensacola Marathon with a gun time of around 5:29:40. The best part was having a young lady (who had been dealing with a previous injury) running with me and helping her to reach her goal of finishing before 5:30 (she even placed 2nd in her age […]
Finished a 30 mile training run today. Time to taper down now as the Cottonmouth 100 Ultra is 2 weeks from today!
Finished a 34+ mile run today. Since my watch died, the map only shows the main road portion I did (22 miles) up to the blue trail at the UWF trails, which the full blue trail I did adds an additional 12.5 miles to today’s run. I took a good amount of pictures and it […]
This was a unique location for a race out at the Wildlife Animal Sanctuary near Denver. The 26+ mile marathon was actually a training run as I’m using them to build up strength for further distances. I was supposed to be running a 100k there but the weather wasn’t happy with that and washed out […]
This marathon was the second one I finished. Preliminary results for the marathon showed I finished 34th overall with a total time of 3:27:59 and a min/mile pace of 7:57. Luckily Dr. Sunnenberg (my oncologist) is letting me wait until Tuesday to start my week of chemo!
