I had a meeting with the service manager after they were done with working on the oil issue and it went pretty good. Overall, I’m happy that it didn’t have any issues. He provided everything I requested based on the document I sent him the morning they were to start work on it. He pretty much followed up with all my requests (scans, reporting, transparency, warranty, what happened, what about the future, etc.).
I had a different service code before the oil change issue happened. I went there yesterday and he got under the van and quickly saw the issue and showed me. I had ran over a stick coming back from Lake Martin a few weeks ago and aplears it had ripped out a wire connector from under the van. He called me back this morning and told me it would cost around $520 to fix. I asked him about getting a discount for their screw up from the oil change and he said the $520 already included a $200 discount already and it would have cost over $700. I told him I was going to shop around.
I climbed under the van and investigated things further. I fixed it (at least temporarily) with some alligator clamps and the service codes aren’t showing anymore.
Now I definitely have mixed feelings about Hill-Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram . The service manager was on top of things immediately and provided pretty much everything I asked for. I appreciate him being transparent on everything and describing everything in detail as I asked. However, I just fixed the other issue in less than an hour (and I’m not a mechanic) and it would have cost me between $500-$700. I appreciate the help with the service manager on the oil change issue, but I paid Hill-Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep to get an oil change – not to have an engine concern to worry about from now on. They made my van drain out at least 3 quarts of oil all over the van underneath for about 30 miles, as well as at the Hill Kelly Dodge parking lot before It left there after getting the oil change. Their mistake could/may have caused a major issue to the engine. I was never offered any free oil changes for the future, nor do I feel like the discount/cost he told me for the other issue was sufficient (especially when I fixed it myself in about 45 minutes and I’m not a mechanic). All the photos from the oil leak are on my previous post. This post shows pictures from the issue I temporary fixed myself. I say “temporary” as I want to use the correct connection and not the alligator clamps.
I feel good the van is running good once again, even better that I fixed the other issue myself! Hoping to get some of the cabinets done this weekend as I still have a lot to do!
