TAHOE RIM TRAIL ENDURANCE RUN – 100 Miler

Updated on May 31, 2020 –
I ended up cancelling this run due to some sight problems that started a week after running the Mississippi 50 Mile run. I ended up not running for about two months due to the eye issue, but started walking instead. After seeing specialists, the doctors were convinced the eye issues were a long term side effect from the radiation I had after my brain surgery. Everything else checked out good. It was weird because things finally started getting better after taking an antibiotic. As I write this on May 31, 2020, I have not have the same problem. Every once in a while I feel like I may have a brief moment of it (especially when viewing brightness all of sudden), but it goes away in seconds and doesn’t continue. When the issue was going on, everything would look real shaky whenever I tried to run (when my head was bouncing around a lot). Thankfully it went away and hopefully it will not return! I definitely want to run this course so I’m keeping it on my list to return to.

I got accepted in the lottery for the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 miler! Last long run (12 miles) for the Mobile marathon training group and race day is next weekend. The training program flew by quickly this year (must be the cooler temps) and I’m looking forward to pacing the 4 hour finish time group next weekend. I was able to squeeze in 5 marathons (3 of them being ultra distances of 30 miles each) during the training program. After the Mobile marathon, it will be time to focus training for the other ultras, which will actually be my training runs for the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run (I qualified and got accepted in the lottery). I hope I can find a crew/pacer to help, so hopefully I can find a few people who can help me complete my biggest endurance challenge. Who wants to help out while being able to visit/explore this beautiful place???
