The tongue and groove ceiling is pretty much done. Just need to cut holes and run the ceiling lights before closing off access. Wired the majority of the locations but still need to add some more.
I was able to get a good amount of the wall framing done but still have more to do (have to get back to non-van work now).
While waiting for the bench seats to be installed, I went ahead and installed swivel seat adapters for both the driver and passenger seats so they will be able to be used with the bench seats along with a swivel table.
Second hole finished for the fan in the back. Based on that section of the roof, I used a leveling adapter to mount the fan in the back. I have to wait until tomorrow so it dries, then I’ll be able to seal it completely with the casing for the fan.
Making my first hole in the van was a success. After just buying the van a month ago, it was always a concern but I just needed to stay confident and research/plan well.

I need to install the bench seat in the van. To do this, I’ll need 4-6 strong 1/4″ thick steel plates cut to size and with some bolt holes drilled (grade 8 bolts with a minimum 3/8” diameter). I don’t have the exact sizes yet, but will know once I have the exact positions set.
Took way longer than expected but I have almost all the insulation done now. I ran out and need to order a little more.
Finished up adding all the sound deadening mats all over. The insulation I’m getting will also help with sound deadening as well. I also used the templates and cut the sheets of plywood for the subfloor. Then I applied water sealant to the subfloor to help protect it from any moisture or liquids.
Here are a few quick reasons why I had specific requirements for the van and I wanted the Ram ProMaster 159wb. These are also why the ProMasters vans are real popular for custom van conversions. There are also companies that buy used ones, convert them into RVs and mobile homes, and then sell them for high money.
Removed the floor mat from the cargo area and cleaned things up. Going to remove some tie down hooks and clean things one last time before adding the sound deadening throughout it.
My car started getting some wear and tear from all the mileage so it was time to sell it and get something that would provide a lot more benefits long term. I bought a 2022 Ram Promaster van and am looking forward to start customizing it into a camping/travel/work van and get things set up how I want (beds, kitchen, shower/bathroom, work desk, table, seating for 4).
