I DNF’d Pinhoti 100 yet again (about mile 34). Around mile 25, I started having some pain start back up that I had experienced a few days after running Rebecca Mountain last month, which brought me down to just walking. I knew I could have kept going as I still had an hour before the cut off time, but knew I wouldn’t make it the entire way with just walking so I dropped out early before it got worse.
I wanted to get 30 miles in today since Pinhoti 100 is just 2 weeks away! Split the 30 mile run into 3 sections since I’m pacing the training program. The first section was running to RW before the marathon training program started. Section 2 was the 15 mile training run. For the last 2 miles, I wanted get a few miles of speed walking in. This walking pace would get you to a sub 24 finish for a 100 miler. Two more weeks until Pinhoti 100.
I finished my 11th 100-miler this morning and ended up winning the Wildcat 100 mile race. The heat/humidity got brutal on Saturday so I waited to get back running when the sun went down. Time to rest up. M#104
Had a good run for Caleb’s birthday run. They’re faster than me so I started a little earlier. Things started getting hot once I was got to the last 4-5 miles. I forgot to restart my watch and missed a mile.
Finished up marathon #102 on the Conecuh trails in Alabama. It was a good run and saw a few snakes
Finished Long Haul 100 with a Sub 24 hour finishing time. This was my personal best for a 100 miler and I got the special green belt buckle since I completed the 100 miler in less than 24 hours. The route was flat but miserable due to the storms that hit the days leading up to the race which made a large amount of the route to be extremely muddy and wet.
Great trails that were well maintained. We saw two different groups of hogs and friendly deer. The hogs are really tearing up the trail. I want a bacon biscuit now.
I needed to get some distance in so I ran the Seafood 50k instead of just doing the Seafood 5k. Pensacola Runners Association always put on great post-race parties with food and drinks.
Finished the Wildcat 100 miler earlier today. My 9th 100 miler completed and that makes 96 marathons.in less than 10 years. This one definitely had the most pain of all of them as the chafing and blisters were crazy.
Finished marathon #95 yesterday with the Bryce Canyon 50 miler in Utah. Mountains, hoodoos, snow and amazing views. It was a race I’ve been trying to get to for years and it did not disappoint.
Finished marathon #93 today at the Lake Martin 100 (8th 100 miler completed). This was definitely an epic race due to the weather conditions that attacked us throughout the night and next day!
Forgot my watch so I used Strava on my phone. Then my phone died so the more accurate info is on Marks run.
Last weekend I finished the Rocky Raccoon 100 miler in Texas (north of Houston) with a time of 26:44:52. This was my 7th 100 miler completed and my 88th marathon I’ve completed since my first marathon I completed 9 years ago.
Finished marathon #79 at the Blackwater trails with the early Friday morning crew.
Finished with 30 miles of training. First I ran to the store, then I pace the training group. As we got downtown we realized the other training group was hanging out with Santa Clause downtown so we sped up and met with them and made sure to get a group picture with everyone.
After training with the couch to 100 miler training plan I started just over a month ago, I completed the 100 miler race and felt good.
Ended up dropping out around mile 55. Right from the beginning something didn’t reel right with me as my breathing wasn’t good and my heartbeat was high and was skipping. Instead of dropping out early, I decided to keep walking and see how far I could make it before missing the cut off time. I […]
Finished the Wildcat 100 miler just over 27 hours in the Florida heat. It was good running with and seeing everyone. Congrats to Phillip for his first 100 miler and also to Matt for finishing another 100 miler.
