Finished marathon #90 today in 30a at the In the Woods 50k. It got hot but I placed 3rd in my age group. It was great seeing everyone and also making new friends. It was great talking to ultra legend Harvey Lewis – Ultra Runner and his wife about some of their favorite races and future ones. The running community at ultras is one of the reasons why I love doing these crazy adventures.
I just need 10 more marathon runs this year to complete my goal of 100 marathons within 10 years (since my first marathon). I remember when I started running for the first time after dealing with brain cancer. Never in my life would I have thought my running would be where it’s at right now and I strongly believe it is one of the reasons why I’m alive and where I’m at right now. Maybe there really is something to the, “if my cancer wants to get me….. It has to catch me first”. You never know what’s going to happen in life so I’m going to keep pushing forward as that seems to be working so far. As I’ve mentioned before… I have a lot more miles and many more adventures to go!
