Another run for the “new favorites” list.
Carpenter Peak in Roxborough State Park near Denver delivered everything I love about trail running — challenging terrain, stunning scenery, and the kind of views that remind you why you lace up in the first place.
The trail was about 95% snow and ice with over 1,100 feet of elevation gain and a total elevation of 7,230 feet. Yaktrax were a must to keep from sliding — but that just added to the adventure. Along the way I spotted deer, animal tracks in the snow, and more breathtaking views than I could count.
And from the top? A full 360 degrees of pure Colorado. Check out the video below — words don’t do it justice.
